2019 Elite Camp Highlights |
Our 3rd Annual 613 Elite Basketball Camp concluded on August 23rd, 2019. We were thrilled to host nearly 50 of our regions top youth basketball players. Both sessions (boys and girls) were highly competitive and our coaches had the opportunity to work with a range of skilled athletes.
At camp this year our focus from a coaching perspective was adding tools to our athletes offensive arsenal. Our coaches (OCAA Athletes) ran their own stations aimed towards helping our participants improve their ability to shoot the ball and/or develop more scoring moves. Players were given the opportunity to work on their new skills in a variety of competitive situations including 1 on 1's, small sided games, and full court scrimmages.
The efforts of many athletes were recognized daily through various awards. Each day coaches distributed the following awards:
A) 'Technique is Real' Award - for the best work ethic each day.
B) 'Bag' Award - The move of the day.
C) 'Tough' Award - athlete that demonstrated the most endurance each day.

Other awards distributed included:
D) 'Love is Basketball' - awarded to our 3PT Shooting Competition Champion
E) 'Camp All Stars' - 4 Players recognized as top performers during the week.
F) 'MVP' - Given to the player that contributed to his/her teams success the most.
Also, on the last day of camp all players received player specific report cards with coaches comments as well as suggested next steps for their basketball development.
It is extremely important that we continue to provide the best basketball development opportunities in the region and your feedback is greatly appreciated. We encourage all participants to fill out our survey to help us ensure that our local athletes' basketball needs are being met.
