613ON3 Rules & Game Play
Each team consists of four/five players, of whom three are on the court at any given time
The game is played on half of a FIBA regulation court, with one basket.
A jump ball is not used to start the game. Instead, a coin toss is held immediately before the game. The winning team can choose to take possession of the ball at the start of the game, or take the first possession after halftime.
There are no jump balls at any time in the game; neither is there an alternating possession rule. In any held ball situation, the defensive team is granted possession.
Instead of the three officials used in full-court, one court monitor and one time/score keeper are used.
Every shot inside the arc awarded one (1) point /every shot behind arc awarded two (2) points.
The game is two halves of 8 minutes. The winner is the team with the highest score at the end of regulation.A tie in regulation leads to a 90 Second overtime period, which ends once either team has scored 3 points.
30 Seconds Halftime –90 Seconds (1.5mins) Break Between Games
If the defense gains possession of the ball within the one-point area, either by a steal or rebound, the team must first move the ball behind the three-point arc before being allowed to take a shot.
A player who has committed 4 fouls is disqualified, as opposed to 5 in the standard full-court game.
All fouls that would result in free throws are awarded one free throw, except for fouls on an unsuccessful shot from behind the arc, which receive two.
Technical Fouls: Players charged with one technical will receive a Game Ejection. Players charged with two technical fouls will receive a Tournament Ejection.
A team is in a penalty foul situation on its fifth (5th) foul. Subsequent non-shooting defensive fouls by that team result in one free throw (instead of two in the standard full-court game). Since the main FIBA rules apply unless specifically addressed in the FIBA 3x3 rules, overtime is considered an extension of regulation for purposes of the foul penalty.
Substitutions may occur in dead ball situations, prior to the check ball
Stalling – or failing to play actively (i.e. not attempting to score) shall be a violation
If team is not sufficiently trying to attack the basket, the Referee shall give warning by counting down the last 5 seconds
Team Standings: 1.Wins 2.Head to Head(only taking win/loss into account) 3.Most Points Scored
