30 - 0... That's right, 30 - 0! Wichita State's undefeated season is very impressive to say the least - what's even more impression is how well their sophomore point guard, Fred Van Vleet, has been playing.
Dating back to this time last season Fred was beginning to establish himself as a force in the Shockers rotation. Little did many know he was about to become a force for the entire nation to take notice of. Van Vleet and his team became the story of March Madness as he helped lead them to four consecutive wins on route to the Final Four.
This year, although fans may have expected a return to the NCAA Tournament and a strong season from the Shockers following last years success, nobody couldn't expected winning 30 in a row ... That is no one aside from Fred Van Vleet.

Watching the Wichita State Shockers play this season is a thing of beauty, it really is. Every player on their roster is executing their role for the team and buying into coach Greg Marshall's system. With so many weapons on offense contributing to their scoring and brilliant offensive execution the Shockers are illustrating the definition of true team basketball. Where does it all start? You guessed it, our boy Freddy V!
The best statistic to measure a point guards efficiency is through his team's winning percentage, and Van Vleet's team is perfect! Fred is a vital component to the offense as the facilitator, play maker, and as a clutch scorer in late shot clock or late game situations. Although he may not have played against the toughest competition so far this season it's hard to forget how successful he was during last years trip to the NCAA Final Four. Good news for Shockers fans is that Freddy V. is only a sophomore and is likely to return to campus next season. Bad news for the rest of the NCAA - Fred Van Vleet is likely to return to campus next season.
