The name is Tyler Ennis and he is arguably the best Canadian born player in NCAA Division 1 Basketball right now. Ennis is a Brampton born basketball star that took his talents south to New Jersey's legendary St. Benedict's Prep to finish his high school career. Following his senior year, and after winning the Gatorade Player of the Year award for the state of New Jersey, Ennis decided to take his talents to Jim Boeheim's prestigious Syracuse squad.
Although those were some pretty impressive feats, thanks some kid from Vaughn named Andrew, Tyler's story was overshadowed. Prior to the tip off of the NCAA season all the talk (especially from a Canadian perspective) was about the next phenom in Kansas. That didn't bother Ennis, just like not much seems to bother the poised guard on the court, as he quietly became a name to remember for anybody facing the Orangemen this season.

Now in the running for the Wayman Tisdale award (given to the nations top performing freshman) Ennis is actually ranked higher than his Canadian counter-part thanks to his teams perfect 19-0 record as well as his impressive numbers of 12 PPG, 3.3 RPG, 5.5 APG. If you are not sold yet just check out this video of his performance against a ranked Pittsburgh team where he played like anything but a freshman making big play after big play in the clutch. Not bad for a guy not named Wiggins right?
