Gameday Saturday! Welcome to the college life. Tomorrow we kick off with a few great games on the board, including #21 Kansas St take vs. Miami (FL) who are looking for the upset in this week’s game @12pmE.T. For those
watching today there is nothing that stands from last week more than the showdown of Michigan vs. Alabama. This game did one thing and that is shoot Alabama up the national ranks to No.1. Edging out title contender USC (#2) who had a great game vs. Hawaii. After having quite a few players head to the NFL in April's draft Alabama still looks like they have what it takes to take another national championship under the reigns of Nick Saban. It will definitely be a great year for college fans to watch with more and more talent coming into the NFL every year.
Since it’s still too early to tell - why not get our Heisman watch going. At the moment there are four players to keep your eye on this season such as;
1) Matt Barkely - QB-USC. Barkley is a conventional pocket passer who is being touted as the no.1 prospect in the nation.
2) Geno Smith QB- West Virginia. Smith is a great passer with speed outside the pocket, to compare with RG3 of Baylor last year.
3) Le'Veon Bell RB - Michigan State. Bell is a great talent who put up big numbers in his first outing of the season.
4) Montee Ball RB-Wisconsin. Ball is another great RB product and with Wisconsin soaring he will b the main reason.
Barkley has the best chance to take home the award since he is working with two prominent wide receivers and a great overall program at USC. When the season is all said and done USC should be in the national championship game which will definitely
help Barkleys Heisman hopes.
As a side not for those NFL fans who have interest in NCAA Football there are a lot of players who play/played in the NFL with bloodlines in the NCAA this season. Some notable names are Jordan Rogers (brother of SB MVP Aaron) the starting quarterback for the Vanderbilt Commodores this year and coincidentally he will be throwing to Wesley Tate
who is the brother of Seattle WR (and former Notre Dame star) Golden Tate. There are many
others who will be taking the field this year who will look to join their next of kin in the NFL. Here's link with a few more that are playing http://www.lostlettermen.com/feature-oh-brother-college-footballs-notable-next-of-kin/.
Enjoy Gameday folks!
