Wake up morning guy! Night guy screwed you again.
I love Sundays. It begins with the opportunity to sleep off last nights poor beverage choices as well as the bad decisions I made as result. It's a new day full of opportunities. My Buffalo Bills have a chance to redeem themselves with their home opener vs. KC and my all four of my fantasy football teams are clearly on pace for record setting performances. My proline and pools picks are nothing but a sure thing - they might as well give me the money now right?
Wrong!
After spending about 12 hours in front of my two tv's in the mancave it starts to set in and I hear the voice in my head say "What were you thinking!?!". Did you really play Donald Brown over Trent Richardson? You benched Vincent Jackson for Randall Cobb? Did you actually cut Green Bays Defense after one week - and signed the Bengals? Yes, yes, and unfortunatley yes. Back to reality - Sunday is finished and so are 3 of your 4 fantasy football teams this week. You will never see that $30 you wasted on the proline/pools picks again, your weekend is officially over.
Hello Monday! Your tired, your stomach hurts, you didn't take the time to pack yourself a lunch last night, and weekend guy didn't want to waste his time getting gas so weekday guy has to go fill up before work - erasing any hope of having enough time to get coffee prior to your shift. Woo! Bring it on Monday...
The good news is I am not alone. Let's highlight some of the other people out there that aren't feeling so hot today.

The good news is I am not alone. Let's highlight some of the other people out there that aren't feeling so hot today.
1) Stephen Gostkowski (and maybe all of the Patriots) - Good job Steve! You couldn't even hit the post on a 42 yard FG which would've rescued your team from the biggest upset of the weekend. Tom Brady had never lost a home opener until just now - don't worry though I'm sure Billy Cundiff could explain to you how things could be worse.
2) Josh Morgan - Great work Josh! You made one hell of a play getting your team in FG range at the end of the game. The Griffining phenomenon is about to continue and it's all thanks to you. Oh wait Courtland Finnegan brushes his head against you (what a shocker - he doesn't do that, does he?) so clearly you have to maintain your street cred by throwing the ball at his leg - that should teach him! Smooth move Josh - your redemption now lies on the foot of who else but Billy Cundiff attempting a 62 yard FG with the game on the line. Just ask Lee Evans and the Ravens how a similar situation played out for them last year in the playoffs...Billys a Redskin now - just saying.
3) Jay Cutler - Nice going Jay! Your freakish athletism and arm strength was no match for your childish tantrums and poor leadership qualities you continue to show the fans year after year. Why is it that the most gifted athletes usually have a problem with what comes naturally to most people - basic human decency. Your LT misses a block and you get suplexed by Clay Matthews, clearly you must scream (encouragement?) at him on Prime Time TV the entire walk off the field. That should make him want to perform better, right? Thing is Jay, it's still a very close game and your defense will give you many more opportunities before it's over ends. However losing the respect of the five guys in charge of keeping you off your back (before the 2nd half) isn't boding well for your chances. Way to keep it real, Jay.
4) NFL (Replacement) Refs - Replacement Refs or not, what is up with the NFL's after the whistle rules/guidelines? How many shoves, slaps, pushes, tackles, scuffles, and scrimmishs did we see this week? Don't get me wrong I love when theres some trash talking and maybe a little showboating after the whistle but sometimes enough is enough. Wait, the NFL clearly has a grasp on the situation. Let's give double offsetting penalties to both teams maybe 15% of the time there is excessive activity after the whistle - that should keep things clean. Not. Too often this weekend did the instigator get away with a cheap shot after the play. Even worse was in the GB vs. CHI game when AJ Hawk blatantly hammers a Chicago player, who retaliates by pushing Hawk back, and then dives to the ground like he's been hit by a cannonball. The worst part is - thats a "good" play by Hawk. He and Tarzan (Clay Matthews) had the momentum the rest of the way.
5) Eagles Week 1 & 2 Opponents - Never before have I witnessed such a lack of consistency on offense combined with a disregard for valueing the possession of the football than with the Eagles the first two weeks of the season. In two games the Eagles have turned the ball over 9 times yet miraculously are 2-0. The 49ers turned the ball over only 10 times all of last season. Browns and Ravens come on! Go ahead Mr. Flacco and blame the Refs however your last two throws were far from perfect - you blew your chances.
Other notes from the weekend; San Fran looks to be to tough for anyone to deal with so far. Good to see that old fashioned football still trumphs passing 60 times per contest. The Titans and Chris Johnson continue to blow my mind - or maybe just blow. What has happened to CJ2K? Buffalo redeems itself (somewhat) however Ryan Fitzpatrick is still far from the money they paid him. A couple of bargains to pick up this week in fantasy (if my advice is good for anything) - Donnie Avery WR Colts, Dennis Pitta TE Ravens, and Martellus Bennett TE Giants. Also looking ahead to Week 4 the Cardinals Defense is home vs. Miami . After watching what the Cards did to the Patriots...lets just say the Dolphins won't be playing the Raiders again.
